The furniture is in natural pine as is the ceiling & there are cheerful Iranian rugs on the floor. The nearest bathroom is either across the landing or just at the bottom of the stairs. Bedroom 2: A pretty room with plenty of space. The 2 single beds can be pushed together to form a double bed. One window overlooks the back garden & the other looks over the front garden down to the sea. There is a large built-in wardrobe. The bathroom is adjacent & can be made self-contained by closing the door at the end of a short corridor. Bedroom 3: A very cozy, spacious room downstairs, off the main entrance hall with a garden view, fireplace + satellite TV/DVD/Video/P'station +TV's in Sitting Rm &kitch). The twin beds can be pushed together or the room can be used as an additional sitting rm. Nearest bathrooms: at bottom of the stairs or by the kitchen.

The washer and dryer are in a separate laundry room. A weekly maid service is included in the rental. In the winter the house is kept cozy thanks to electric night-storage radiators, double glazing, a wood-stove & an open log fire. The walled garden is interestingly set out on several levels with a built-in grill and various patios with spectacular views. There is a small pool shaded by an olive tree with lovely views up the coast. Despite Penedo's rural location, Lisbon -- one of Europe's most exciting capitals -- is within easy reach by road or rail. The nearest beach is just an eight-minute drive away, while Sintra is about 20 minutes away. The quaint coastal resorts of Cascais and Estoril are an easy 30-minute journey by car. The nearest shop is a five-minute walk away and there are supermarkets within easy reach. The locality boasts a wide choice of restaurants, bars, and cafes serving fine wines and delicious regional specialties.
