South Beach Areas The 2 main desirable locations in South Beach are to be close Lincoln Rd or Ocean Drive. There are the action centers of South Beach. They are also the most populated by tourists and locals alike. Ocean Drive which runs from 1st street to 15th Street is mostly hotels and restaurants with some some stores for shopping. Ocean Drive hotels sit across the street from the Beach. The hotels on Ocean drive tend to be smaller 4-5 stories and usually don't have pools. Ocean drives tends to be the main destination in South Beach during the day where people usually head over to the beach and then back to the restaurants and bars on Ocean Drive for Drinks before heading back to their hotels. For Dinner, shopping and night time people watching Lincoln Rd is the place to be after 5pm. The higher end hotels sit on on Collins Ave between 16th and 20th streets. These hotels sit directly on the Ocean and are a short walk to Lincoln Rd.
