Day trips by way of car: Jamestown (15 minutes); Wickford (15 minutes); Watch Hill/Westerly (30 minutes); Providence (35 minutes); Boston (1 1/2 hours); Little Compton (1 hour); Plymouth Plantation (1 1/2 hours); Sturbridge Village (1 hour). Day trips by way of train: High Speed Acela train: Boston (1 hour); New York City (2 1/2 hours)

Surfing Narragansett Beach is know nationally for excellent surfing. This beach is only 4 miles from house. Surfing lessons can be arranged.

Horse Riding Smithbridge Stables are 2 miles from house and provide excellent instruction at all levels. There are many other stables to choose from.
