Les Bouganivilliers, a splendid stone Village House, renovated by an imaginative French architect, was once used as a location in a French film. Built on 3 levels, a huge skylight brightens the entire house, and the lower level has large, graceful doors and windows, allowing the afternoon light to flood the living areas. Open the kichen door to a fully enclosed courtyard with a BBQ, table and chairs, and potted geraniums. The large living/dining room has an extendable table, charming French antiques (a grandfather clock for one), lovely art, comfortable sofa and chairs, a stereo, an excellent working fireplace, and a piano. The kitchen has all the right appliances and for preparing your Provencal meals. All 3 bedrooms are on the middle floor. On the top level where the TV room and sunny terrace are located, there is a also comfortable convertible sofa bed. The house has two full baths, one with a tub and one with a large shower. You'll find a library, films, and games to enjoy.

St. Cannat has the perfect location for exploring Provence. You'll be just 15 minutes from Aix and in the center of all the other historic and beautiful places you'll want to visit: Avignon, Arles, St. Remy, Marseille, Cassis, Bandol, the villages of the Luberon, St. Tropez, and perhaps on to Nice and Monaco. The village has art fairs, pottery fairs, Summer festivals and parades. It's an active community. We have a wine cooperative with a boutique selling local products (think gifts!), and all the services you could even need, including excellent butchers, bakers, pastry and gourmet fruit and vegetable shops. St. Cannat even has its own museum which is well worth a look. Within only a few miles you have the beautiful reservoir at Cadenet (think picnic!), and the south Luberon villages and wineries. There are close outdoor markets every day of the week, and excellent restaurants (Le Mas de Fauchon in St. Cannat, for example), plus fascinating Roman and medieval history nearby.
