Waimanalo cottage Rental Property Information

The Cottage in Waimanalo is a local beach-style house on a quiet residential street in the small country town of Waimanalo. Situated on Waimanlo Bay on the east shore of Oahu, the 5-mile long, white-sand beach of Waimanalo is known for being undeveloped and clean, and without the noise and traffic of other areas. Tourists rarely frequent it. The Cottage blends tropical outdoor living with beach-life. There is a large deck overlooking a private backyard. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking and eating. There is a gas barbecue on the deck. Linens, soaps, towels,and a hair dryer are provided. Lots of tropical foliage keeps the house and lot private. There is a washer and dryer, beach towels, boogie boards, snorkeling gear, swim fins, and beach chairs.

Nestled at the foot of the mountains, and surrounded by a turquoise sea curving onto a white, sugar-fine sand beach, the tiny town of Waimanalo includes a local bakery, mom-and-pop food stores, a small art gallery, a surf shop, small post office, a couple of take-out plate lunch places, a McDonalds, and a 7-11. The larger town of Kailua, 10 min. away by car, is full of large grocery stores, restaurants, bars, beach/ocean activities, a yoga/dance studio, shops, stores, and more. In the other direction, 15 min. down the highway, is Hawaii Kai, a water-front, marina community with restaurants, shops, a Costco, water activities like para-gliding, and more. There are 3 golf courses w/in a 15 minute drive, Sea Life Park is 5 min. away, great snorkeling at world-famous Hanauma Bay is 15 min. down the road. Honolulu and Waikiki are 30 min. away. And the north shore is a leisurely hour's drive away along a winding coastal road.

Brief description of a stay in Waimanalo Uncrowded, unhurried, unspoiled, uncomplicated -- pristine, and gentle!

Ocean conditions in Waimanalo Bay Waimanalo beach is wide, and the ocean bottom slopes gently into deep water across a series of small sandbars. Small, one to two foot high trade-wind generated surf breaks on the sandbars all year round. No rocks or coral interferes with swimming and beach walking. Deep ocean waves break outside on the reef off-shore.
