Chicxulub house Rental Property Information

This beautiful house on the Gulf of Mexico is bright and spacious. It is east of Chicxulub and Progreso, on Yucatan's coastal highway, one half hour north of Merida. The white sand beach is perfect for beachcombing and long walks. A short drive takes you to local markets in Chicxulub or Progreso, or you may drive to Merida, the glorious colonial capital of the Yucatan, where you'll find excellent shopping, restaurants and fabulous sightseeing.

Our house in on the beach east of Progreso and Chicxulub. It is tranquil and serene, with sea breezes, shallow water and gentle surf. The area is rich with archaeological treasures - nearby are ruins at Dzibilchaltun and X'Campo, and two hours' drive to Chichen Itza. Also a pleasant drive is Campeche, an authentic old town, recently named one of the top three must-sees by TripAdvisor. Across the highway behind the house is a large wetland and a flamingo observatory. The area is quiet and safe, and there are an abundance of restaurants, sightseeing and shopping opportunities when you travel to any of the nearby towns or the city of Merida.

  • Prices include all taxes and utilities.
  • Check in time is 1:00 PM Saturday, and house must be vacated by 9:00 AM Saturday morning.
    50% of rate is required at time of booking, then 25% and $400 damage deposit are required within 60 days of reservation. The remaining 25% is due as a cash payment upon arrival at the house, to be given to our property manager. Damage deposit will be refunded one week after your return, if there are no damages to the property.
  • For monthly rentals, cleaning and laundry services can be arranged on site and at a small expense.

For wheelchair accessibility, one would need to maneuver one step up into the house from the parking area and one step down onto the tiled terrazza. Elderly persons unable to negotiate stairs could use main floor bedrooms. The LG TV has some 'old school' video games built in. Our housekeeper and cook lives nearby and can be hired for any portion of your stay. She is Mayan and prepares excellent and authentic Yucatecan dishes. As an added adventure, you may accompany her to the market and see how the locals shop. In consideration of her schedule, please arrange in advance. For long-term rentals, satellite TV can be installed for an extra charge.

More Photos and Area Information Everyone who has visited the house agrees it is more beautiful than the photos show, and it really is.

This is a tranquil and relaxing beachfront environment in a spacious and well-equipped house. The Gulf waters are always warm. The neighborhood is safe and peaceful, and there is an abundance to see and do - nearby ruins, great restaurants,and excellent sightseeing in colonial Merida.

It is recommended that you bring a cellphone, or one can be purchased with minutes included for $35 in Merida.

Golf Information: There is a golf club nearby, Club Golf de Yucatan, and you can find information on its website. If offers weekly or monthly memberships to snowbirds, and includes golf carts.
