Further Details for the cabin in California, USA
The protected waters on the property offer some of the best fly-fishing California has to offer. The river is open year round and an angler’s paradise. Your section of the river is abundant with rare native Wild Rainbow Trout, attracting anglers from all over the globe. The fishing can be world class. If you’re lucky, you can even hook up right off the deck! The McCloud River, conveniently located just 20 minutes Northeast, also offers some of the greatest fishing on the west coast. Other fantastic fisheries that produce Steelhead, Salmon and/or Trophy Trout in the region are Pitt, Klamath, Eel, Sacramento, Trinity, Salmon, Rouge, and Smith Rivers.
Located at an elevation of 2300 feet it does snow on occasion at Sacred Springs during the beautiful winter months. That is good news as the snow levels are usually just enough to make it frosty white, wonderful and easy to navigate. If downhill/cross country skiing, sledding, ice-skating and snowboarding is your desire, Sacred Springs is merely 12 miles from the ski lifts at the base of Mount Shasta, which summits at well over 14,000 feet tall!
Sacred Springs and its surroundings is paradise for children, family and pets. Hike the amazing Castle Crags, walk up the river 15 minutes to Moss Brae Falls, rent kayaks or paddle boats on nearby Lake Siskiyou which is a great trout and bass fishery, or take a short drive to enjoy Castle Lake, Lake Shasta and McCloud River. Like to golf? There are some wonderful golf courses. Let Mount Shasta be your tee-off backdrop each hole. All sports & recreational activities are either free or very reasonably priced and at a fraction of what you would spend at Lake Tahoe. For all you Shakespeare lovers, drive approximately an hour North to the Oregon border and enjoy the Elizabethan town of Ashland, the renowned home of the Shakespeare Festival. Many people refer to the area as 'God’s Country'. Come find out why. Enjoy!
