  • We welcome your well-behaved pet at Lubec Bay Cottage. There are plenty of fields, beaches and trails for you and your pet to enjoy. To the reservation deposit and rental rate, please add $100 per week for 1 pet; please add $75 to the rental rate for an additional pet. Maximum of two pets.

  • The first floor bathroom has a new shower stall, a sink and a toilet. In the adjacent room, there is a dressing table with mirror and a washer and dryer for your convenience. The updated second floor bathroom is more spacious with a unique vintage green-colored tub with shower and toilet, and a new vessel sink with antique cabinet. All the towels are very soft for your comfort. Environmentally-friendly Green cleaning products are used by housekeeping.

The quaint Guest Bedroom with mirrored dresser has two twin antique beds and a bird's eye view of the flower garden. There are soft fleece blankets available for added comfort and numerous bed pillows so you can choose the one that's right for you. There's even a step stool provided for easier access to the high mattress.

Lubec Bay Cottage is in a very quiet neighborhood where you can relax, feel secure and be comfortable. For added peace-of-mind, there is a roll-out ladder in each bedroom and a fire extinguisher and smoke alarm on each floor. All the windows are new and easily opened to get those cool sea breezes. In Downtown Lubec, there is Internet access available at the library; Summerkeys music concerts; whale watching tours; bike rentals; chocolatier shops; art galleries/shops; museums; and a boat taxi service between Lubec and Eastport so that you also may visit its art galleries, museums, shops, and restaurants, or take their whale watching and puffin tours and saltwater fishing trips. Lobsters, clams and scallops are available in-season for purchase from Lubec fishermen.

Extra Amenities You may hear the relaxing sounds of a fog horn or the turbulent, crashing waves on the shore of the open ocean at Carrying Place Cove. You can keep time with our authentic ship's bell clock that chimes on the hour and half-hour. The oceanside sitting area with its two reclining Adirondack chairs invites you to sit and take in the spectacular views and watch the birds that visit the area. For indoor leisure time, there is a vintage tabletop pool table; several popular board games; a DVD library; and a library of sea-themed and Maine-authored books. A tide clock keeps track of the incoming/outgoing tides. Come experience for yourself what others have said was the best vacation they have ever had! There is just something special about Lubec Bay Cottage.

Artist Studio You don't have to be an artist to enjoy Lubec Bay Cottage! But if you would like to bring your paints, brushes, and canvases for painting while on vacation there is a working studio for your use on the property. The situation is intended to complement the comfortable surroundings with an atmosphere of creativity. The Studio is an early 1900's rustic workshop that has been converted into a working studio with plenty of natural light, several work benches, a French easel with daylight lamp, drying rack, space station and cart, pack stool, designer's drafting table with ergonomic adjustable chair, and print rack. The picturesqueness and natural beauty of Lubec will truly inspire all those who visit. We ask that the equipment not be used for children's play.

We Could Live Here - May thru Sept., September 27, 2009 By Tom (Easton, PA) We spent two wonderful weeks at the Lubec Bay Cottage. I'm writing this email from our'vacation' home in the Endless Mountains of PA. We're on our way home to Easton, PA. My wife just said to me that 'looking our over our lake doesn't quite have the same effect as the Sunrise over Campobello Island. The cottage is so warm and cozy. The people in and around Lubec are just really nice. We had a great time. And to my amazement, I ran into a work colleague who now lives in Lubec that I hadn't seen in at least 8 years. He recognized me one day while I was at Cohill's. Again, it was just a wonderful time.
