Fishing Details Smith Mountain Lake is known for its great fishing with plenty of Stripers, Large Mouth, Catfish, Small Mouth, Carp, Sunfish and Bluegill. Kids will have a blast catching sunfish and bass right off the dock. And plenty of big fish swim by as well. In fact, a 7 lb Largemouth was caught (and Released) right in front of the cabin on 8/16/2008.
Kayak New for 2009 a sit-on-top style kayak is available for use during your visit. Safe and easy to use, no visit to the lake is complete without an early morning paddle.
