Atenas is a charming and inviting town, located in the province of Alajuela, in the Central Valley. Atenas is centrally located to all of Costa Rica's incredible attractions. We are about 1 hour driving from the beaches and Volcano Poas, we have nearby coffee plantations and are a few hours from Volcano Arenal. With a car, it is very easy to make day trips and then return to your own private oasis. In fact, you can spend all of your vacation at Colina Paula and be perfectly happy.

When you enter this property through an artistically designed gate, you get your first impression of the beauty of the plant life of Costa Rica. Passing by the 'peon' (caretaker) house you will see native fruit trees. Crossing the first river, which in rainy season you can hear from your bedrooms, climbing up a curving driveway, you will see 'Serenity', your own private oasis.

This brand new house was designed as a modern, updated version of a typical Costa Rican home. Only native woods were used to build the vaulted ceilings, doors and cabinets. Comfort and a cozy atmosphere is created by the use of award winning designer furniture, different kinds of lighting, professional appliances, jacuzzi tub etc. A very wonderful feature of this house is that you can open the doors from the north and south of the house and have a cross view and cross breeze through the entire house. From wherever you look, in any part of the house, the view is always different.

This property has a caretaker who will bring you fresh eggs in the morning and seasonal fruit from the finca. A management company (consisting of a native Costa Rican (Tico) and an American (Gringo) is available to meet and great you and assist you in anything you may need to make this stay the best possible.
