Orient cottage Rental Property Information

Modest home is comfortable, with carpeted living room, large country kitchen, porch, back lawn leading to water's edge with dock. Located in country setting, yet easily accessible on paved highway. So near Canada the small Custom's House is next door, and Canada lies across the water. East Grand Lake is large and scenic, with fishing for landlocked salmon and brook trout in season; small-mouth bass throughout the season.

Our property is located on the water between two lakes, both of which are on the American/Canadian border. North Lake is about 500 acres in size and East Grand Lake is about 14,000 acres in size, with many undeveloped islands for exploring. Much of the shoreline of both lakes is also undeveloped. Because our property is on a mile-long navigable thoroughfare between the two lakes, it is protected from the wind and suitable for canoeing and kayaking. The area is rich in wildlife. Although on a paved road, the property is fairly remote; the nearest large town, Houlton, is 27 miles to the north. There is a general store 3 miles away. There is good smallmouth bass fishing right off the dock, and landlocked salmon and brook trout fishing in both lakes.
