  • Housekeeping fees vary depending on size of cabin. The cleaning fee is optional but should you choose not to pay the cleaning and laundry fee, you will be expected to leave the home in check in condition, including but not limited to sanitizing bathrooms, mopping floors, washing & folding linens, cleaning kitchen and leaving appliances, stove, microwave, etc. clean and ready for the next guest. All units are inspected after each stay and the unit MUST be left in check in condition by the inspector’s standards to avoid being charged a cleaning fee. Housekeeping arrangements must be made in advance to avoid additional charges. If you are paying for a cleaning fee, please put all dirty linens next to washer, put dishes in dishwasher and start cycle, and place bagged trash outside garbage can.

There is also another bathroom on the main level for guests. Upstairs has a private bathroom as well as the basement area with the 4th bedroom.

In the loft area, there is a comfortable chair with an ottoman, perfect for reading your favorite book. As you journey downstairs, you will find a family room with another TV, game table, bedroom #4 with a single sleeper sofa, and bathroom #4. Tastefully decorated log home in a gated private community. There is a common area about 1/2 mile from Timberwilde Log Cabin. There is a state stocked trout stream for fishing or cooling down, there's also a couple of picnic tables with charcoal grills, a large covered firepit with plenty of seating, and a smaller firepit next to the creek... *You may find residual items, like aluminum foil, dishwasher soap, etc., as this is a family oriented home. *Condiments may remain in the refrigerator/cabinets also. Our cleaning lady does check expiration dates.

Horses for all skill levels. Burnt Hills Stables offer 1 and 2 hour rides. Trail Rides for 1 or 2 or up to 10 people.$25.00 per hour per Horse. Our Guides Name is Danny. He Has 42 Years Experience with Horses!

Chinquapin Lake Welcome to Chinquapin Lake that is located in the mountains of Ashe County. This one acre man made impoundment is a one of a kind fishing spot in the North Carolina system. Sometimes referred to as Trout Lake or the Wildlife Club Pond, this privately owned piece of water is stocked by the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission under Delayed Harvest regulations through a special arrangement between the commission and the Ashe County Wildlife Club, who owns the property. Under Delayed Harvest regulations fishermen are limited to using only artificial lures having one hook and no fish may be possessed from October first until the first Saturday in June. Between the first Saturday in June and September 30th there is no lure restriction and anglers are subject to a seven fish creel limit.

Chinquapin Lake Chinquapin Lake is heavily stocked all season except for the month of August. Rainbow, Brook, and Brown Trout are stocked with the mix favoring the Bows and Brookies. Stocking reports indicate that over 5000 fish will be released in this fishery this year. The lake features ample parking and excellent access for adults and kids alike and also offers a fishing pier for disabled persons. Expect fishing pressure to be moderate to heavy at times. However, there is generally plenty of room for everyone. When fishing Chinquapin Lake don’t be afraid to fish from the wooded trail on the side of the lake opposite the parking area. Although casting can be difficult due to overhanging branches, you might be rewarded by catching a quality fish that is enjoying the shade and cover that they provide. Depending on the time of day / year that you visit trout often cruise just a few feet from the bank. Often a fisherman will find trout jumping at his feet when his fly is in deeper water.

Skiing Information: Appalachian Ski Mountain has long been acclaimed as one of the best places to ski for families, groups and beginners. They welcome skiers and snowboarders of all skill levels. (Snowboarders should note that according to our polls, Appalachian has had the best terrain park in North Carolina for the last couple of years.) This year they have added a new slope (terrain park) called Appal Jam. Appalachian Ski Mountain also boasts a beautiful ice skating rink. You will now find ten slopes and five lifts that include 2 quads and 1 double chair and a conveyor belt which is designed to take beginners to the top of the beginner terrain!

Golf Information: Mountain Aire Golf Club: Enjoy a round of true mountain golf! This course features spectacular views and a friendly atmosphere with reasonable rates. Located in West Jefferson and nestled in the heart of the Blue Ridge, Mountain Aire is an established, public course offering 18 holes of well-maintained fairways, complimented by the natural, rugged beauty of the Appalachians.
