This 'Fort Grounds' home sleeps 8-10 and is located a mere 1 1/2 blocks from the beach, 1 block from the beautiful city park, 3 blocks from the famous Coeur d'Alene Resort as well as downtown shops and sidewalk cafe's. Seaplane tours, jet ski rental, cruise boats, and parasailing are literally just around the corner. Located in the most picturesque, peaceful, and quaint of residential neighborhoods, this home was long the residence of Dr Don and Dr Jane Gumprecht, both much beloved and revered. You will enjoy the flavor of the home, filled with items reflecting Dr Jane's exquisite taste and many trophies of Dr Don, the renowned sportsman. As the frequent site of family reunions, this home is well suited to accommodate larger parties with children. Many little feet have padded their way gleefully to the close-by beach.

The neighborhood is the most sought-after location because of its proximity to everything Coeur d'Alene. Originally it was the site of Fort Sherman that was established in 1878 to protect settlers. Nearby Coeur d'Alene City grew up at the edge of the fort which was eventually disbanded and subdivided. The 'Fort Grounds' thereby became one of Coeur d'Alene's first residential areas and remains, as a consequence, at the center of all the attractions.
