The Mauna Kea Lodge is the perfect destination for your large ski group or family/friend reunion. Sleeping up to 30 in seven bedrooms and six bathrooms, the Lodge is a short five-minute walk from the Peak eight ski lifts. The Living Room just off the gourmet kitchen, furnished with handmade leather sofas and chairs, the perfect setting for reading next to the stone gas fireplace. The kitchen is centered on the main level, and is the heart of the home. The custom laid sandstone floors expand through the over-sized gourmet kitchen into the exercise room. Fully equipped to satisfy the discerning chef with granite countertops, six burner Jenn-Air gas stove, double ovens. Open dining area seats ten, breakfast bar seats four with nearby plasma TV, additional bar space for four is adjacent to kitchen. Home also equipped with two portable folding tables with chairs. Total seating capacity of 32. The exercise room is equipped with free weights, treadmill, redwood sauna, shower and a door to the rear deck with upper level hot tub. Study: (Sleeps two) Plush leather sofa converts to queen sleeper, gas stone fireplace, leather trunk, wicker chair and FAX machine. Full tub/shower bath shared with Bear Room.
In the lower level the entertainment room boasts a big screen TV with VCR/DVD,TIVO, surround sound and large movie selection with L shaped sectional sofa. The spacious recreation room has a full-size pool table, hand carved and custom designed wet bar, TV above bar with custom handmade leather sofa in bar area. There is an additional full size refrigerator in this room. Large Den: (Sleeps two) with custom handmade leather sofa, converting to a Queen-size sofa sleeper and matching chair, stone gas fireplace, stereo CD and door to lower level hot tub and gas grill. Main Level Bedrooms: Mountain Lei Suite: (Sleeps two) Very private, King iron poster bed with European tapestry comforter and two walk-in closets. Saloon doors lead to full master bath with jetted tub, separate over-sized shower, sandstone countertops, custom tile work and double sinks. French doors open to a private deck. The TV/VCR is housed in an antique corner cabinet from a New Mexico church.
Bear Room: (Sleeps two) Across the hall from the study. Queen poster bed with hand-carved black bear woodwork design and denim linens. Shares hall full bath with tub/shower with the study. Mirrored double closets. Moose Room: (Sleeps four) Down the hall from the Bear Room, this room has two Queen-size beds with whimsical moose linens, walk-in closet. Adjacent bath has double sinks and tub/shower. Cowboy Bunk Suite: (Sleeps eight) Situated by itself off the kitchen area, huge bunkroom suite decorated in a cowboy theme with three sets of custom built-in twin bunks, and a queen size built-in bunk, TV with Playstation (doubles as DVD), VCR and adjacent bath with shower/tub. The center of attention is a life-size wooden carved dog. This magical place is the perfect hangout for youngsters.
