West Beach Neighborhood The West Beach area is the best for Gulf-front houses along the Alabama Gulf Coast. As a dead end road with no high density development nearby, this area is uncrowded and private. Every house in the vicinity fronts either the Gulf of Mexico or the Little Lagoon across the street. The conveniences of Gulf Shores are only a couple of miles away so it is no problem to shop, eat at restaurants, etc.
