Enjoy the warmth and charm of Burgundy from our riverfront holiday home -- a two-bedroom, two-bathroom vacation rental in the town of Semur-en-Auxois, in the Cote d'Or. The house is nestled in a quiet area which is still very near to the centre of town. We border on the river Armancon, and there are stunning views of the river and the town ramparts from the house and garden. The town of Semur-en-Auxois is populated by warm, friendly people and surrounded by medieval history, all while remaining a modern, self-sufficient town. Semur is just a one-hour trip from Paris via a high-speed train, which stops in the adjacent town of Montbard. The town has a Sunday open-air market, three large grocery stores, six bakeries, a hospital, museum, theater, and cathedral. Semur is also close to many other towns of note, including Flavigny-sur-Ozerain, Epoisses, Vezelay, Chablis, Avallon, Alesia, and of course, Dijon! The drive between Semur and Dijon is dotted with vineyards ranging from small, unknown treasures to larger-scale recognizable labels. The nearest vineyard to the house (a small but wonderful label) is only 5 km away.

We have a small selection of movies for a rainy day, but you are also welcome to bring your own favourites.

Kitchen: The kitchen has full-size appliances (fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, stove, oven) and a cozy wood-burning stove. The kitchen table comfortably seats six people.

Bedrooms: The upper bedroom has a large bed, seating areas, hardwood floors, and a balcony with a stunning view of the river, town wall and ramparts. There is a dresser and ample closet space for clothes storage. The lower bedroom is accessible from a separate entrance at river level, and contains two twin beds that may be brought together to form one large (king) bed. There is a dresser and a wardrobe for plenty of clothes storage. The door to the bedroom opens directly onto the patio sitting area next to the river (shown in photos above).

High-Speed Internet: High-speed internet access (wired and wireless) is provided at no extra charge.
