24 Main street sits in the middle of the historic village of Essex. After passing through the white picket fence and entering this gorgeous historic house, one is immediately taken by the bucolic setting that pours through every window. An unobstructed view of Middle Cove ( a serene inlet off of the CT River) greets you from every window at the back of the house. The only sounds you will hear are the church bells and the whistle from the Essex steam engine.
Because it is a village house there is wonderful shopping and tasty bites at your front door. While at the back door you will enjoy the tranquil garden and idilic water. One can read and relax under an ancient Maple tree or do some boating and fishing off of the private dock. We have a wonderful red canoe in which to explore the river and the coves.
