Haleiwa house Rental Property Information

This oceanfront estate sits on a lot of approximately 10,000 sq ft., with 130 feet of ocean frontage. Enjoy and share our beach with the Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles. You will be staying halfway between Waimea Bay and Haleiwa town, on the famous North Shore surf spot Chuns Reef. 4 miles from Sunset Beach! The home was originally constructed as the 'Laniakea Train Station' in the late 1800s. It was remodeled in 2006, and features many antiques from around the world. Expect digital TV with HBO on demand, full kitchen, dishwasher, microwave oven, washer and dryer, telephone, gas or coal BBQ, beach gear, snorkel gear, boogie boards, soft top and regular surfboards, kayak, wireless internet, all included. * Upstairs and downstairs available together or separately, also available a detached cottage.

During the winter months, the North Shore of Oahu is bombarded with huge swells from the North Pacific. Surfers from around the world arrive to compete at breaks such as Waimea Bay, Pipeline and Sunset. The home is located about a mile and a half from Waimea, with it's beautiful waterfall hike, botanical gardens, and historical heiaus (Hawaiian temples). It is just around the point from Turtle Beach (Laniakea) where Green Sea Turtles can be seen basking on the beach daily. Two miles west, the old plantation town Haleiwa now bustles with restaurants, quaint eateries, surf shops and boutique art and craft stores. Safe swimming is available most of the year right in front of the home, or close by in Haleiwa if the surf is huge. World class snorkeling is only two miles east at Shark's Cove Marine Reserve, with colorful fish species, turtles and occasionally dolphins. Many locals think this is a better snorkeling experience than Hanauma Bay!

Detached Garden Cottage The garden cottage is detached from the main house. The cottage has an ocean view and is only a few steps across the driveway to a beautiful white sand beach. The cottage has 2 rooms (very small). The bedroom has a queen bed, a large TV, HBO, Showtime on demand and VCR. The second room has a small convenience kitchen / microwave / toaster oven, blender, coffeemaker, small hotel refrigerator etc. The unit has fan and air conditioner. Two sets of sliding glass doors and main door allow cross ventilation by trade winds. The cottage was remodeled in May of 2006. There is wireless internet or plug in for your computer. The private bathroom is an 8-foot walk on a covered pathway from the detached cottage. You will also enjoy a private covered lanai (patio) with a fish pond and small waterfall. There is an area off the exercise room for dining on the beach, for the garden cottage only. Washers and dryers, exercise area on the beach and private beach gate are shared.
