Come and and enjoy one of Maine's best kept secrets! New Harbor is located on the Pemaquid penninsula. Many fine restaurants, specialty stores and summer attractions are a short walk, bike ride or drive away! New Harbor and Bristol, Maine are all about water... The town stretches for 15 miles along a slender finger of land. At its tip is the rocky headland of Pemaquid Point. On one side is Muscongus Bay; on the other, Johns Bay. When you're in Bristol, you're never more than three miles from salt water. And then there's freshwater -- marshes, ponds, brooks and rivers. This mix of water and land has given rise to some of Maine's most scenic landscapes and richest natural environments. It's no surprise, then, that each of Bristol's parks has a relationship with water, whether its the Canoe and Kayak Launch, fronting on the placid Pemaquid River, or the historic Pemaquid Point Lighthouse standing guard over the crashing surf at Pemaquid Point.
