Ashe County cottage Rental Property Information

Located on the 'Teaberry' in NW North Carolina, this is the Stamper family home. It is the original farmhouse for the valley which has been modernized and restored inside and out. The main house has an elegant feel with two queen bedrooms, each with a private bath. A guest house has a twin beds and a full bath. The well appointed kitchen connects to a cozy cathedral ceilinged family room with a fireplace and an entertainment center. Porches surround the house: sit on the traditional front porch, eat in the screened-in porch, or barbecue on the side porch. Quite a relaxing place removed from the hustle of the city.

Just to the east is Jefferson, with a wonderful park, rafting on the New River, and golf at Jefferson Landing. West Jefferson has become an artist community, with a popular Christmas in July celebration closing down main street! Just to the north is Mt Rogers State Park, the highest peak in Virginia, offering the Appalachian Trail, as well as a famous Virginia horse trail. Don't forget the Virginia Creeper Trail, the best bike ride you will ever experience!!!

The Virginia Creeper Trai is 30 minutes away! Best bike ride you have ever had! This is a converted narrow gage train track that runs between White Top adjacent to Mt Rogers, and Damascus Virginia. Bike rental and tram services are at both ends of the trail so you can only go downhill if you so desire. I like the 20 or so tressles that tower over the river. Incredible hiking is also right there! Whether going for a view at White Top pass, the Applachian Trail, or many other trails over Mt Rogers.

Virginia Horse Trail This trail circles Mt Rogers State Park. We have a pasture adjacent to the property if you want to bring your horses!

West Jefferson This town has turned into a tourist attraction with its arts and crafts, excellent restaurants, and Christmas in July celebration. There is also a farmer's market that sells much more than produce. Don't forget to buy some locally produced chees while you are there!

Skiing Information: Beech Mountain and Sugar Mtn. are an hour to the south.

Golf Information: Jefferson Landing is a wonderful golf course amongst million dollar homes!
