Camp Wood house Rental Property Information

Rob's Lodge of Mill Wheel on the Nueces is situated between the Nueces River and Highway 55 at the edge of Camp Wood, Texas. Just a few steps away is a picnic area with private access to the river exclusively for Mill Wheel on the Nueces guests. Large oak trees shade the house and expansive yard area. Easy access, yet secluded. You will love the Nueces River! The water is so clean and clear you can easily see the gravel rock bottom - be careful - it's deeper than it looks! Plenty of room outdoors to play volleyball, badminton, or croquet. This is the perfect place for a family get-away. The master bedroom has 2 extra long double beds, a walk-in closet, and is located next to the master bath with a garden tub and separate shower stall. The other two bedrooms each have an extra long double bed and share the second bathroom, which has a bathtub and shower. The two queen size sofa sleepers in the living area makes it easy for the Lodge to accommodate parties of up to 12 people.

Enjoy the peace and quiet of the Nueces Canyon at Mill Wheel. The river is flowing by and the birds are singing. Butterflies light on the bushes and sip the sweet nectar from the various varieties of delicious fruit offered. A pair of roadrunners stay in the picnic area and are spotted from time to time. Also, we sometimes see a swan swimming on the river behind the River House. This is “country at its best”! Mill Wheel has been a favorite swimming hole in this area from as far back as the 1920’s. The river runs deep here. It is crystal clear and looks can be deceiving. What may look to be 3 foot deep may actually be 10-12 foot deep. Swim at your own risk. Use water safety rules and never swim alone.
