Also, per person beach towels provided for any outdoor use at hot tub, community amenities, or trips to the river beach on property. Community pool is about 3 miles away on Marie Drive.

Queen sleeper sofa in chalet room has comfortable innerspring plus comfort level inflater feature. Extra child bed stored in closet. All beds are furnished with at least two sets of quality linens, one blanket, and per person pillows. All rooms are dust-free wood floors and each room has an area rug in traffic zone. True log construction provides wood backs of logs in inside faces of exterior walls and interior walls follow with wide pine wood finishes. The resulting interior is comfortable, cozy and reminiscent of heritage lifestyle.

Community amenities include two swimming pools, tennis courts, exercise equipment in workout room, picnic areas, and use of 'Trout Lodge' (by reservation) at Talking Rock bend for events. Relatively low traffic on community roads provide miles of safe paved ATV or walking tours. For the adventurists, old logging trails can be found for woods and river tours on your own. It may be hard to leave the immediate property as the river has its own charm to beg you to stay and play.

Area Fun-to-do Activity details: Rolling Thunder River Co. 800-408-RAFT (7238) to ride the Ocoee near McCaysville. (Remember the famous railroad bridge from the movie 'Deliverance?') Ask about special pricing for Riverbend guests. Also, for all-aged kids the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway. (800-934-1898). State and National Parks, hiking trails, mountain scenic drives and charming mountain towns with unique personalities are abundant. Carter's Lake is 10 minutes from the front gate of Talking Rock Community. The pride of the area, this pristine deep lake is restricted to public recreation with no homes on its shores. Great fishing (stocked), boating, picnic and swimming areas. Bring you own boat (parking lot at Riverbend) or rent from the marina. Horseback riding stables, golf and other activities available in this mountain vacation resort area. Owner provides suggestion book with details at Riverbend.

Given the river, beach and huge level play area... Turn the kids loose and let them teach you how to play. The shoreline is easy to enter the water or soak the sun on the relaxing beach. Fishing with casting rods, fly rods or cane poles can bring in giggling catches or surprising bass and trout. Bring your own floats, tubes, canoes, kayaks or any water-friendly toys. Most guests find the end of their stay too soon and plan for the next visit to Riverbend before thay leave.

Guests ARE AMAZED exploring the guide book! The suggestion book just started filling itself and even local residents find nuggets of 'want-to-do's' that they had not known about the area. Skiing Information: Water ski on Carter's Lake year-round. The north Georgia mountains are a cool-but-not-too-cold pleasant surprise. Try the Carter's Lake marina to rent equipment or bring your own. Special parking space provided for boat or ATV equipment trailers at the Riverbend Lodge site.

Golf Information: Unique mountain golf courses are special challenges if you must leave Riverbend for golf. A list of friendly courses and contact information provided in the guide book at the lodge.
