Bailey Island cottage Rental Property Information

The Nezinscott cottage is located on a bluff on the southern end of picturesque Bailey Island, Maine. Your stay includes access to a semi-private sandy, rock strewn beach. You are also walking distance to Cedar Beach. Some other features of Bailey Island are Mackeral Cove, the Giant Staircase, Lands End gift shop, as well as local restaurants, a quaint general store, post office, and two churches. The covered-wrap-around porch offers beautiful easterly and westerly ocean views. Large open living area with wood-fired fireplace insert to add comfort and ambiance for the evenings and warmth in the mornings. Come and enjoy the breath-taking sunrises and sunsets!

Bailey Island is the last in a series of picturesque islands connected to the mainland by three bridges, the last of which is the 'Cribstone Bridge'. It is about a twenty minute drive from Cook's Corner in Brunswick. People considering staying on Bailey Island, but unfamiliar with the area may wish to note the following: There are grocery stores, shopping malls, a cinema, major chain and numerous local restaurants/retail outlets, fitness centers, medical facilities (including 2 hospitals), golf courses, Bowdoin College, Bath Maritime Museum, and other attractions at a twenty-minute to a half-hour drive away in Brunswick, Topsham, and Bath. Freeport (home of L.L.Bean, Inc.) is about a forty-five minute drive. Portland is about a one-hour drive away. In essence, the region offers an array of sights, activities, and resources for our guests, in addition to enjoying the unique natural beauty of rugged ocean shorelines.

The electrical and lighting systems were completely replaced in 2007. The fireplace has a wood-fired insert, equipped with fan-driven heat duct; new as of 2007. Wood is supplied as part of the rental. Four bedrooms and the bathroom are upstairs. Downstairs there is a woodshed/utility room, a sink room for dish washing/food preparation, a kitchen with dining area, a large combined living room/dining area (with 3 tables, plenty of chairs, a day bed and sofa), and a bedroom (with a full-size bed in it).
