Monkey Falls Hideaway is located just 3 miles outside of San Ignacio on the Cristo Rey Road, which leads to the Mountain Pine Ridge. No need to drive long distances on bumpy roads. The immaculately clean one bedroom house with its spacious veranda over looking the creek is perfect for two people that want their own space, to be close to the best town and right in the “nature” of Belize. The majority of the house is up on stilts over looking the charming and romantic Monkey Falls Creek less than 15 feet away from you. This year round creek has lovely little water falls all along the 300 feet of the property. Due to this, you always hear the serene sounds of waterfalls and, it is this sound that lulls you to sleep each night. From your veranda, you can watch the resident river otter go up and down the creek on his hunt for fish. The veranda is the place you will spend a lot of your time on either the built in sofa or at the dining room table. Perfect spot to just hang out & watch.

The Kinkajou and other animals roam the creek’s edge at night looking for fallen mamey and other fruit to eat. During the day, there are lots of other animals and many birds in the area. The only sound you hear more than the falls of the creek, are the hundreds of parrots that fly overhead each day. Pampering is a priority while at Hideaway, your nightly rate includes daily house cleaning service and your own personal cook for breakfast and dinner or both. Luisa is the person in charge of taking care of every aspect of Hideaway and she is also a fantastic cook. For over seven years, she cooked for the magnificent restaurant at the world-renowned filmmaker, Frances Ford Coppola’s Resort, Blancaneaux, here in the Mountain Pine Ridge. She now will prepare your breakfast and dinner and you just purchase the groceries. Luisa can also go shopping for you, for $5 BZ plus bus or taxi fare if you would like. We promise that you will not be disappointed with your meals, or cook your own.

The kitchen has everything. The king size bed is especially comfortable so that you will want to lay in it and gaze away. We do know that many beds in Belize are less than comfortable so we have taken great care in making sure that your bed at Hideaway will make you want to lounge around a bit. You also have the tiled bathroom with its half-moon shower that is spacious enough for two people, so you can rinse off the 'jungle' from you at the end of the day. As we said, pampering is a priority and you can have a massage without going anywhere. Marlene, who is a friend and one of our neighbors, from Ocean Spirit Fire Temple, is a wonderful Massage Therapist. She will bring her massage table to Hideaway where you can enjoy your massage on the veranda while listening to the gentle sounds of Monkey Falls Creek. An hour-long massage is only $100 BZ. Take advantage of his and her massages at this rate! If you would like a manicure, pedicure, facial or haircut, Patricia will come to you.

Hideaway is located in an area that is still untouched, as is most of Belize. You have complete privacy and if you need anything, Luisa lives across the street and is always available. Talk about having it all, you can have it all at Monkey Falls Hideaway… privacy, personal cook, massage therapist, and the wonderful serene sights & sounds of nature, that is very close to the best town in Belize. Bring your binoculars you bird watchers. They will appear to be posing for you. You are around 90 minutes to what some archaeologists call the best architectural city, of the Maya civilization, Tikal, in Guatemala. Eco tourism is at its’ best in our area. Continuing further down our road takes you to the Mayan ruins of Caracol, Rio Frio Caves, 1000 Feet Water Fall, the Mayan Village of San Antonio and much more. Our area is home to three wonderful rivers, the Macal River only a few hundred yards from Hideaway and the Mopan River that flows in from Guatemala. Both create the Belize River.

Golf Information: While staying at Hideaway, you can go tubing down any of the rivers, and take turns jumping off into Tersia Falls, which are waterfalls about a mile away. Minutes away from Hideaway are the ruins of Cahal Pech and Xunantunich, the Mennonite community of Spanish Lookout, the Guatemalan boarder and much more. All are just waiting for you to explore. Our own Mr. Winston will take you horseback riding, canoeing, on jungle remedy walks and much more. Mr. Winston has been training the British Military in Jungle Survival for over 30 years. He rides his horse in front of Hideaway every day going to his farm/ranch. He is a wonderful man and you will love talking with him about everything that has to do with nature. You can easily use Hideaway as your home base and visit the majority of Belize if that is what you desire. Otherwise, there are so many things to see and do just in this area; you will not be able to visit them all in a week. Monkey Falls Hideaway is a place that you will not want to leave and it is for sure a place where you will want to return.
