Pleasant River, Milo house Rental Property Information

Swim before breakfast right outside your door. Canoe to the Piscataquis River and beyond. Fish in the pleasant river or in streams, lakes, and ponds that abound in the area. Bike on the back roads, or hike in the mountains . If you have horses, bring them: there is a shed, plenty of pasture, and there are miles of trails and logging roads accessible from our property. Public tennis courts and a 9-hole golf course are 5 minutes away. Acadia, Baxter Park, Moosehead Lake, and white-water rafting are easy day trips. 1 hr from Bangor International Airport, 4.5 hrs from Boston.

Acadia national park and the Atlantic ocean are 2 hours from our house; Moosehead Lake, 40 miles long and 2 to 10 miles wide, is 1 hr away, Peaks-Kenney state park on Sebec lake is 30 minutes, and Schoodic Lake is 15. All offer a variety of water sports. For the very adventurous there is white water rafting on the Penobscot, Kennebec, and dead rivers. The closest is the Kennebec, about 1 hr away. The great Maine wilderness begins about 10 miles to the north. Backpack, canoe, camp for a day or a week in a wilderness that covers 20,000 square miles and stretches 200 miles to the Canadian border.
