Stay in the countryside with out a car. Train station down the hillside, only 1,100 meters away. Trains every hour to Florence ( 17 minutes ), Pisa ( 46 minutes ), Siena , Cinque Terre ( 90 minutes ) and more destinations. Villa Lysis is located on the border of a charming hamlet perched on a hill top just a few miles west of Florence, in a very panoramic, green, quiet location. Gourmet restaurants, all kind of shops and supermarket in the surrounding area. The villa maintains the antique old character but is equipped with all the modern comforts.

The villa is ideally situated for those who wish to enjoy day trips to Florence ( 15 minutes by car or train ). It is also only three miles from the entrance to the Florence-Pisa and Milano-Roma motorways, both of which connect easily to all the major cities and villages of Tuscany. There are numerous gourmet restaurants in the vicinity offering Tuscan meals and wine at affordable prices.. The grocery store is only 3 minutes walking from the villa. The surrounding grounds are covered with quaint pathways; olives trees groves, vineyards and again Spectacular views!

The main entrance gives way to a large and elegant living room with open fireplace, original cotto floor, lovely beamed ceiling, and library of art, cuisine and travel book, not to mention all the comfort and conveniences of modern life (satellite TV, CD player, radio ). In addiction the living room has access to the garden. Off of the living room you will find a neoclassical style double bedroom with an oversize bed ( 140x190cm). Adjacent to the bedroom is a large full bathroom appointed with a private shower area. The kitchen has a spacious gas fireplace/oven, microwave, American coffee maker, and an abundance of cooking utensils. The formal dining room will enchant you with its large Tuscan style fireplace, wood beamed ceilings, cotto floors and view on the garden. On the first Italian floor ( second level) you will find 2 doubles bedrooms and a full bathroom. The master bedroom has view of the Arno Valley with Florence visible in the distance. Both bedrooms are air conditioned.

Extras Highly recommended are the services of an in-house Tuscan Chef, Signora Carla. Signora Carla has been working in Tuscany preparing regional favorites for the past 30 years. An extensive selection of appetizers and main courses are available....and requests are particularly favored by the chef ( average meals may range in price from 25-30 Euro per person ). A housekeeper and baby sitter are available with advanced notice. The villa is also equipped with a phone, local calls are free and long distance calls can be placed using a calling card. Internet access is also available with rental lap top or for your lap top hook up WI-FI ( extra charge ).

Services The owner is happy to assist with recommendations and arrangements for restaurants, museums, guided tours, cooking classes, sightseeing excursions, local festivals, and outings to the ceramic factory, regional outlets, artisan workshops, food shops, and of course the wineries.
