11 beaches to choose from Encinitas is an unique resort in that it has 11 beaches in the vicinity, with each having its own appeal and two beaches are steps from the house, Moonlight beach and Swami's beach. The other beaches are city or state beaches with tide pools, surfing, scuba diving, sunning, sailing, hiking or just basking in the serenity of a secluded beach, it is exactly what you are looking for. For the surfers, it is Swani's beach, which was forever immortalized in the Beach Boys Surfin USA! Great scuba diving is just offshore from Swanis and the Encinitas Marine Life Refuge, North San Diego County's only underwater park. Steps from the property is the Self Realization Fellowship Retreat and Hermitage Grounds which features an ocean front beautifully maintain meditation garden that attracts visitors from all over the world!
Nearby activities San Diego is a notable vacation destination for many other attractions other than the beautiful beaches. Area attractions include Legoland, Sea World, San Diego Zoo, Wild Animal Park, Quail Botanical Gardens and, just up the street in Orange County, you have Disneyland and Knott's Theme Park. If you desire a deviation for a day from the beaches, you can take a spin out to Temecula which boasts over 25 vineyards and features many tasting rooms, restaurants and spas. Golfing is also abundant in San Diego, just take your pick from the great public golf courses including Torrey Pines Golf Course just down the road home of the Buick Invitational and The U.S. Open.
If you have got shopping on your mind, you have come to the right place! There are great boutiques in the Village of Encinitas and if you jog just a few miles up the road you have the shopping bonanza of Carlsbad Premium Outlets which offers 90 different outlet stores including: Banana Republic, Barneys New York, Brooks Brothers, Calvin Klein, Coach, Crate and Barrel, Polo Ralph Lauren, just to name a few. Also, there are really unique boutique all up and down the Coast Highway which can keep your shopping juices flowing for hour on end!
