This all-season house features a custom-built kitchen by Fine Artist of Perry, Maine & a luxurious open floor plan that rises to a large master bedroom. Over an acre of land & 200 feet of waterfront provide a wonderful sense of privacy & contemplation. The 6,675 acres of Lake Meddybemps support some of the best fishing in the state of Maine. When you arrive at water’s edge you will find a private dock for your boating, swimming & doing absolutely nothing needs, so make sure to bring your kayak or canoe. There is also a private boat launch for larger boats just a short walk away. The seacoast of Maine is nearby for dining on lobster or whale-watching. So whether you are a birder, fall foliage enthusiast or cross-country skier, wherever you decide to venture, you will love returning to “Little Finland”- truly a Maine vacation paradise.

Lake Meddybemps borders the Moosehorn National Wildlife Refuge, site of one of the largest birding areas in North America and a premier spot to observe the fall migration, and vivid autumn colors! The seacoast of Maine is 40 minutes away, and you won’t want to miss visiting wonderful towns such as Eastport and Lubec where you can sample our world-famous lobster and downeast hospitality. The bold, rockbound coast is nearby and and accessible by many public and private park trails. You can make day trips to St. Andrews by-the-Sea or Campobello Island, both in New Brunswick, Canada. Known for its hiking and cross-country ski trails, Campobello is the site of Franklin D. Roosevelt's summer home. Less than 10 miles away is the border town of Calais for shopping, antiquing, movies, and restaurants. Autumn features many local harvest festivals in the nearby small towns, where you can buy everything from home-made pies to quilts to locally produced art, crafts, and other products.

| Notes: | Dogs are considered on a case by case basis. No cats,please. Here are the dog requirements: 1. All dogs must be spayed or neutered, and current on their shots. 2. Dogs must be crated when left alone in the house. 3. Dogs are not allowed on beds or furniture. 4. Dogs are not allowed to roam freely outside without supervision or without the control of the owner. Leashing is advised unless you have great control of your dog. There are other homes in the vicinity of our home, and renter's dogs must not become a nuisance to neighbors. 5. Dogs are not allowed to be left outside on a tether, chain, rope, etc. whether the owners are home or away. 6. Dog owners need to keep dogs from digging - the house and grounds are within a conservation protection area, and the ground is easily damaged. 7. Dog owners will take full legal and monetary responsibility for damage or injury caused by their dogs. |

Other Amenities Bose sound system for radio and CD (plays MP3s as well.) Parking for boat/snowmobile trailer. Boat launch for larger boats nearby. Lots of books for reading and some board games as well. Telephone is on regional plan so please bring a calling card for long distance calling. Pikku Suomi is a wonderful location for autumn and winter activities - biking, hiking, snow shoeing, bird-watching, paddling, ice fishing, star-gazing.
