Edgartown cottage Rental Property Information

Cozy Gambrel Guest House on lovely property setting. Well maintained yard with a flower and vegetable garden in front. When in season, guests are welcome to veggies!!! Modest in size, cozy character makes up for it! Walk to the town boat landing a half mile away. Beautiful view of Ocean Heights from town landing! Swimming beach is about 1.5 miles away or as the crow flies, a 3/4 mile through Tuthill Reservation. The cottage has an open floor plan. Living & kitchen combined. There is a small deck off living area with steps down to outside shower in rear. When on your deck, you have full privacy from owner’s main house in rear. Many repeat tenants!! Upstairs 1 queen in master with a room a/c.!! Second room has one single. With a spiral staircase to the bedrooms...older children fare better as the stairs cannot be blocked off. TV, cable, DVD, gas grill, blender. View of flower garden makes for a delightful stay. Owner has ferry passes, at cost / most weeks

From Vineyard Haven ferry, take a left and another left after Stop and Shop at 5 corners. Head up hill 1/2 mile & go LEFT at the Vineyard Haven/Edgartown Road. Signs says Oak Bluffs/Edgartown LEFT; UP ISLAND straight. Stay on Edg-Vh Rd approx. 6 miles. Pass High School on Right and Ice Arena, Jardin Mahoney Nursery on Left. Pass FELIX NECK bird sanctuary on left ..then come the 'numbered streets '. 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th ,9th and N.10th. THE NEXT LEFT is PILGRIM ROAD, just BEFORE Pilgrim Rd. Auto sign. GO LEFT and look for the nicest yard on the street! #68 at end of stone drive. 2 houses in yard. Garden in front. 68B is the Gambrel in front. Split rail fence and arborvites trees line the front. WELCOME. Park on the left, shell drive so as not to block driveway please!

  • The indoor tub/shower is a clawfoot tub with a shower enclosure. The outdoor shower is hot and cold and is enclosed for privacy. We STRONGLY recommend the use of our outdoor shower to save on the septic demands of 2 houses on the same septic. We have NO issues, however..outdoor water drains into the ground water and does not fill up the holding tank. BESIDES, it's fun and if you have never tried it! Give it a whirl..you'll be 'hooked!' Go out your slider and around to the back of house. Shampoo? YES.. it's not just for 'rinsing off the beach sand'. Hang your towel on the clothesline with your wet suits! Enjoy the experience. It's a unique Vineyard 'thing'.. and bring the SUN!!!!

  • Both bedrooms are up a set of spiral stairs. Not good for older people or youngsters under age 8 years as there is not way to gate the staircase off. Master has has room air conditioner; however this does NOT a/c the entire house. Owner pays the electric ; however.. if the tenant leaves the a/c on during the time when not in house.. then the electric bill shall be deducted from security deposit. Bed #2 has a fan and there is a ceiling fan at top of stairs as well.

References required. First, last and security deposit mandatory. Month to month trial basis for 6 months minimum. 2 maximum; prefer ONE!!!
