Payson cabin Rental Property Information

Located in scenic forest 16 miles east of Payson, a short 90 miles north of Phoenix, this modern cabin is completely equipped to allow you and your loved ones to fully enjoy what beautiful Arizona really has to offer. Sitting in the Kohl’s Ranch area, the cabin rests on a scenic hillside and is just above Tonto creek. Five minutes out the front door you can enjoy fishing in the routinely stocked creek, hiking along the mountain trails, or play in the snow. Afterwards, curl up on the couch next to the wood burning stove and enjoy a movie from the library of DVD's or through the satellite TV. You can cook a homemade meal in the fully equipped kitchen or enjoy one of the various local restaurants. Local attractions include downtown Payson which offers modern dining, grocery stores, shopping, and a movie theater. There are also various lakes within driving distance, the Tonto Natural Bridge, as well as Sunrise ski resort. The location is simply breathtaking regardless of the season.

The cabin is located amidst a Ponderosa Pine forest that is full of wildlife. There is the annual Payson Roundup, the world's longest running continuous rodeo. There are lakes and streams for fishing, and national parks for sightseeing and hiking as well. There is also a ski resort within driving distance for use during the winter months.

Payson information Payson is a historic town which was founded in 1882. It has a small town feel with modern amenities such as shopping, a movie theater and chain restaurants. It is at the heart of Arizona's Rim Country and has beautiful weather all year round. It provides a great escape from the summer heat and also provides breathtaking snow covered wilderness in the winter.

More local activities An activity book in the cabin provides details for many local hiking trails of various difficulty levels. There is horseback riding available through Kohl's Ranch which is a 15 minute walk, or a 5 minute drive from the cabin. There are a few lakes stocked with various fish a short 20 minute drive away. If you are more interested in creek fishing, that can be done along Tonto creek which is roughly 100 feet away. Feel free to hike along the creek to find yourself a nice spot. The Tonto Natural bridge is an awe inspiring, naturally formed travertine bridge, thought to be the largest in the world. During the cold season, thousands of icicles form along the ceiling, some as long as 5 feet or more. During the warmer months, you can actually hike under the bridge and get some wonderful pictures.

Skiing Information: Sunrise ski resort offers 65 different ski runs that will entertain visitors of all skill levels. They offer all varieties of winter sports and is actually quite pleasant to visit during the off season.
