Payson information Payson is a historic town which was founded in 1882. It has a small town feel with modern amenities such as shopping, a movie theater and chain restaurants. It is at the heart of Arizona's Rim Country and has beautiful weather all year round. It provides a great escape from the summer heat and also provides breathtaking snow covered wilderness in the winter.

More local activities An activity book in the cabin provides details for many local hiking trails of various difficulty levels. Horseback riding available at nearby Kohl's Ranch, a 15 minute walk, or a 5 minute drive from the cabin. There lakes stocked with various fish a short 20 minute drive away. If you are more interested in creek fishing, that can be found at Tonto creek which is only 100 feet away. Hike along the creek to find that special spot for fishing or relaxation.
