Spruce Head cottage Rental Property Information

The Lilac cottage is a sun-filled vacation delight. Windows on all four sides flood it with light yet the open floor plan allows for quiet areas. It has an extended deck surrounding the front of the cottage, a back yard eating area with gas grill and picnic table as well as a shed for the hobby equipment. The cottage is tucked away on a cul-de-sac with tremendous privacy and a great view of the water from the deck and master bedroom. Stroll to the ocean located across street, go fishing off the fish pier, hike and bike on the island, or drive to Port Clyde, 8 miles away, for the ferry to Monhegan Island. Rockland, also eight miles away, is a center of art featuring the Farnsworth museum and the Wyeth art center. There is a life guarded beach at Lake Chicawaugie, also in Rockland. And be sure to feast on locally caught lobsters while watching the spectacular sunsets.

Spruce Head Island is in the Rockland-Camden Penobscot Bay Area. Mt. Batty and Mt. Monadnock are part of a Maine national park with hiking facilities; Lake Chicawaugie is a swimming area with a beach in Rockland which is eight miles from Spruce Head Island. Ferries to Vinalhaven and North Haven are located in Rockland. Deep sea fishing and schooner sailing are available from both Rockland and Camden docks. Boutiques, antiquing, museums, galleries, movies, restaurants are plentiful in this area of Maine.

Pets are welcome. This cottage is on the edge of a quarry so children would need to be supervised at all times. The house is all on one floor. we will have to measure the doors to see if they are wide enough for wheel chairs. Because the cottage is on a hill, it might prove difficult for people who have trouble walking.
