Ocean Beach (OB) is one of the hippest yet relaxing communities in San Diego County. Famous for a strong neighborhood, Ocean Beach hosts it's own Fourth of July Fireworks, a Christmas/Holiday Parade AND every Wednesday afternoon/early evening, there is a terrific Farmer's Market on Newport Avenue. The Farmer's Market, the OB Pier and Sunset Cliffs are short walks from LotusCottages.   • The bathroom has a charming, restored bright yellow tile shower with a beautiful multi-colored antique stained glass window, handmade cabinets, a unique sink and large mirror. The bright yellow tiles were selected because when we were renovating the beach cottage, we discovered one remaining bright yellow tile !! Even the bathroom at LotusCottages is wonderful.

  • The bedroom has wonderful, romantic night lighting -- softly glowing light on 100-year old beams under a beautiful redwood ceiling. There is a comfortable queen size bed with 400 count sheets and lots of pillows on a fixed platform and a beautiful burled-wood closet reminiscent of one you would find in early 20th Century lodges and cabins. A handsome dresser, hand crafted in beautiful birch wood is provided with ample space to accommodate your belongings. You'll have no problem falling asleep to the wonderful smell of jasmine drifting in through your 1800's antique stained glass window. The study doubles as a sleeping area with a trundle bed (two twin beds assembled to make a daybed/sofa when not used for sleeping). LotusCottages is very beautiful, and it is surrounded by many 100-year old palm trees.

Surrounded by 100-year old palm trees, you can relax on the decks, admire the exotic plants, and enjoy the wonderful sounds of the surf and the sounds of the palm trees whispering in the wind. You'll be in your own world. LotusCottages is one of San Diego's most enjoyable beach vacation rentals. Designed by an award-winning architect. Built by a master carpenter. The detailing is incredible. Listen to the waves at night. Surf the waves during the day. Whatever you do, we know you will enjoy the ambiance of these beautiful, historical cottages. We have just completed renovating the first of the Lotus Cottages. The first of the LotusCottages is a charming historic beach cottage built in 1922 and lovingly restored in 2007. This 'new old house' is fully wood paneled. The cottage sleeps up to four people. Included are two wonderful decks and a modern gourmet kitchen

Architect Designed Master Carpenter Built This very special, 1922 knotty pine paneled, Sears and Roebuck beach kit cottage was lovingly restored in 2007. It was designed to accommodate San Diego's extraordinary year-round weather. In the front is a private gated yard elevated above the street and bordered with palm trees. Here you can enjoy a morning coffee in our beautiful and comfortable wicker chairs. A delightful gourmet kitchen awaits you just inside the front door and includes two under-the-counter refrigerators, an under-the-counter freezer, a Jenn Air range and a microwave. The large counter space and tall stools on the opposite side create a fun and interactive place to eat. The entire cottage is surrounded by 280 degrees of deck, has keyless entry and there’s even a hidden stackable washer and dryer just off the back patio. If you appreciate true craftsmanship, you will love this cottage. No matter where you are in this cozy abode you will feel relaxed.

Some History on our Beach Cottage 100 years ago, the ground underneath LotusCottages was the beach. In 1918, an amusement park, Wonderland Park, was located here. The cottage sits on the ground which was formerly the concrete pad around the Wonderland Park Carousel. In 1922, three beach cottage kits were erected on Lotus Street. Today, these cottages are some of the oldest Ocean Beach structures. LotusCottages is magical!
