Halifax house Rental Property Information

Centrally located making it a great 'home base' for day trips, yet only 20 min from airport. There are a multitude of things to do within a one hour radius including 19 golf courses, museums, parks, beaches, shopping, river rafting and lots of nightlife to name a few. The house is uniquely decorated with attention paid to detail. Each bedroom has a different 'feel' yet blends with the rest of the house. The large country kitchen is a great place for the family to gather or for an evening of playing games or conversation. There is plenty of room to play outside on the 11 acre lot. Enjoy the secluded, fenced backyard with it's hot tub, pool, sandbox, children's toys, BBQ and large deck with furniture.From the side of the house our on-site horse, alpacas and Araucana chickens can be seen grazing and playing. At night we have the fire pit complete with plenty of seating and fire wood to enjoy as you star gaze. Privacy, relaxation, fun and comfort: it's all here.

Shubenacadie was originally inhabited by the Natives. The word Shubenacadie means land of the potato! Sorry it's not very romantic, but it is the truth! Once, wild potatoes and turnip grew along the river and were subsequently harvested by the natives. The Shubenacadie River starts at the end of the Bay of Fundy and does not change over to fresh water till aproximately one kilometer from Pine Grove. As the Bay of Fundy grows narrower, the masses of water have no choice but to go up causing the Tidal Bore to occur. This causes great currents and 'upheavals' that enables us to have a'wild ride' when tidal bore rafting, which is only 15 min away. The neighboring community of Stewiacke is halfway between the North pole and the equator. They display fossils of a Mastadon which was found at a local gypsum quarry, which happens to be the largest open pit mine in North America.

Further Details for the house in Canada

All of our beds have hypo-allergen bed and pillow covers. We use all natural cleaners, laundry detergent and have no carpets so it is easy on the allergies and great for people with sensitivities and those who are environmentally conscience.

Skiing Information: Ski Wentworth is only is only a 45 minute drive. They have both downhill and crosscountry skiing available with ski rental for both.

Golf Information: There are four courses within 15 minutes and an amazing 19 within a one hour radius. They range from amateur to pro courses with some being worldclass.

Guest Book We have just switched over from a B&B (which we did not live in) to a vacation home, so I do not have any comments about the vacation home as yet. I can tell you though that guests from all over the world have commented about our location being so good. They felt that we were central enough to tour a large part of the province, yet private enough for when they wanted a 'lazy day'. The other comment that I have consistently heard over the past three years is how welcoming the house and surrounding are. The guests felt 'right at home' and comfortable immediately. They have all been impressed with the decor and have picked up decorating ideas that they have seen throughout the house. The last comment that I have heard over and over is how quiet and private the house and grounds are.
