  • We have a wonderful old fashioned bathroom.....a bright, large bathroom with a great old tub and solid brass, European-made, hand-held shower unit (we call it the 'telephone' -- 'il telefono' -- remembering Giovanna's youth in Italy). The tub is surrounded by warm, pine paneling. Old fashioned pedestal sink.

  • Bedrooms: there are 2 bedrooms upstairs.....the master bedroom is a spacious, sunny room with queen bed facing the Meadow Pond. New large windows, cathedral ceiling, and ceiling fan. Cozy small 2nd bedroom has a double bed. Mattresses are new and wonderfully comfortable. We installed 100% wool Berber carpeting -- laid with tacks only, no glues were used -- throughout the bedrooms and hallway. We think it's important to get out of bed and walk slipper-less on a great carpet!! This is a smoke-free place. Extra Sleeping Accommodations: If friends come to visit, the living room has 2 comfortable futon couches with premium, queen-sized futon mattresses.

A Wonderful Deck: we have a large, new cedar deck -- with first-class patio furniture -- for relaxing and dining.... a delightful space for hanging out after a day on the beach. On a warm sunny morning, this is a perfect place for morning coffee. This is outdoor living at its best when you're not at the beach!! With a large gas grill, you'll be grilling many meals outdoors. Comfy chaise lounges and great sunny exposure make it hard to leave the deck on many days.... A Spacious Kitchen: Sunny spacious kitchen gives you plenty of elbow room in which to cook. As part of the large, open, main floor, the cook can chat with the kids playing cards on the dining table or your honey relaxing in the living room. Bed Linens and Bath Towels: Unless you are flying in, we ask that you bring your own bed linens and towels. But.... let us know if this is a hardship, and we will be happy to provide very nice linens for you convenience. We will send you a 'care package' before you come!

Our Meadow Pond Neighborhood Crows Nest cottage is located “up-island” and looks across to the 20 acre, fresh water, Meadow Pond, a neat wildlife refuge for deer, birds, turtles, beaver, etc. You need a car on the island to get to the 2 small grocery stores, to the 2 restaurants and ice cream parlor, for speedy trips to local beaches and public playground, and to get to the ferry. A Place with Hundreds of Secluded and Hidden Coves and Beaches If you love the splendor of the Atlantic Ocean and Maine coast without droves of tourists, Islesboro is your place. There are dozens of secluded and incredible coves and beaches -- both sandy and rocky -- within a 5 to 15 minute drive from the cottage. Or pack a backpack and bike (or walk!!) to them....Explore them on foot and or in a kayak. Bring picnic lunches and suppers and play Robinson Crusoe on your 'private' island.
