Comfortable, relaxing vacation cottage in a convenient location at an affordable price. The cottage is in the Larkspur neighborhood, within walking distance of several excellent restaurants, a grocery store, drug store, coffee shop, fast food and video rental. It is a 3 minute drive to the Old Mill District with the Les Schwab Amphitheater, restaurants and Deschutes River walking path. We are 5 minutes to downtown with all the entertainment, shops and cafes it is known for, as well as a 5 minute drive to the Mt. Bachelor shuttle, Pilot Butte State Park and Farewell Bend Park.

Bend is the largest city in the state east of the Cascades. There are abundant recreational opportunities, from golfing, fishing, rock climbing, camping, mountain biking, hiking, rafting, sightseeing, snowmobiling, downhill and cross country skiing, plus many others. Blending natural and historic attractions unique in the United States, Bend enjoys the typical predominately-dry climate of the Great Basin, with sunny days, cool nights and low humidity, as the common weather pattern at an elevation of 3,628 feet.

Restaurants We Like Within Walking Distance: Zydeco Kitchen, Chan's Chinese Restaurant, El Rodeo, Outback Steak House. Old Mill District (3 minute drive): Greg's Grill, Anthony's Homeport, Old Mill Martini Bar. Downtown (5 minute drive): Old St Francis School, Merenda, Pine Tavern, 28.
Things We Like To Do in Bend Hike Pilot Butte, go tubing on the Deschutes River; ski Mt. Bachelor; visit Sisters, OR; shop at Cascade Village; stroll around Drake Park; attend a concert at Les Schwab Amphitheater; sip coffee at an outdoor cafe downtown; go to the Deschutes County fair in August; attend a baseball game at Vince Genna stadium.
About our cottage The cottage was the first home built on our street. Built in 1949, it has been updated with new windows, roof, carpet, insulation and exterior stucco. The kitchen has new vinyl and countertops. We have added a patio, paved driveway, sidewalks, and a dog run. We have many more plans to enlarge and improve the cottage, but we want to preserve the rustic character and charm. We greatly enjoy staying in Bend and always feel relaxed and refreshed after spending a weekend there - we always hate to leave! We hope you will stay at our cottage - we're sure you will enjoy it too.
