Orcas Island house Rental Property Information
The Quinn Cottage, An Orcas Island Waterfront Retreat This lovely waterfront home is nestled on a sunny, south-facing wooded acre of land looking across to Shaw Island. The famous and beloved San Juan Island ferries and a continual parade of pleasure boats sail by the cottage’s breathtaking view throughout the day. An abundance of wildlife can be enjoyed from this pretty seaside retreat: deer, raccoons, otters, mink, seals, bald eagles, heron, and an endless variety of other sea, shore, and land birds. The tide pools at the water's edge offer hours of exploration for oysters, starfish, crab, octopus, jelly fish, and other sea creatures. At night the sound of water lapping against the shore lulls visitors to sleep. The large wrap-around deck off the main floor and another lower deck at the water's edge create many areas for meals, rest, and play. The floor-to-ceiling windows and multiple skylights in the main indoor living space bring the outside in for incredible armchair views.

It offers a spot for exploration and warm water swimming as well as a nice destination for a longer walk. Those wanting an even more challenging walk can use the ferry landing as their goal. That two-mile excursion takes a walker past farms, forests, and water views into the quaint Orcas Village for coffee or a snack before heading back to the cottage to complete a four-mile circuit. No road noise can be heard from the cottage. Its acre of land, waterfront setting, and long driveway also keep it out of the private neighborhood road's view.

Guest Book 'Thank you for an amazing, breathtaking experience at your cottage! This is not just a house to rent but a home to enjoy every minute. We loved the setting, the outside areas, the great kitchen, and my personal favorite, the hammock! The view is indescribably beautiful and surpassed our expectations. The elements of nature were everywhere. From the deck we saw a pod of whales, deer, 10+ otters, two bald eagles, woodpeckers, and sea lions. What an experience for our city children. The tide pooling uncovered fantastic purple and orange star fish, baby eels, and anemone. The endless water parade out the windows was fascinating, including Indian canoes, sail boats, and ferries like shimmering palaces at night. And the stars through the skylights were fabulous. We will always remember the 'Big Chill' moments of laughing and cooking in your well-stocked kitchen. We went sightseeing all over the island, but our favorite spot of beauty was your deck and living room.'
Other Activities hiking, kayaking, boating, crabbing, beach combing, shopping, art galleries
