Sitting on a knoll above the water, the house lies on two acres of land and overlooks peaceful McFarland’s Cove, Johns Bay, and the Atlantic beyond. The private deep water dock and mooring lie protected in the little cove, allowing safe harbor for boats or comfortable swimming in the calm waters. The house itself is a unique, turn of the century classic. It has exposed wood throughout, beautiful pine floors, a large open space which combines the living and dining rooms, a broad porch with rocking chairs and a swing to enjoy the stunning views, and a fireplace to gather around at night. A spacious lawn in the front allows for badminton and croquet games or tossing a football with the children. Although the house has all the historic charm you could ever hope for, it also had two full newly refurbished bathrooms, high speed Internet, TV with DVD, and a new electric stove in a fully furnished kitchen. Island Grocer, a gourmet shop/deli, is two minutes down the road.

Across the water lies historic Fort William Henry built in 1692 which guards the entrance to picturesque Pemaquid Harbor. The location couldn’t be more beautiful and authentically Maine. It’s located in the heart of New England’s most picturesque region, mid-coast Maine, and includes all the essentials to delight the senses! Local attractions include: Pemaquid Lighthouse – perhaps the most photographed lighthouse in the U.S.; Boothbay Harbor – one of Maine’s most charming harbors with great shopping and restaurants; Monhegan Island – a famous artist colony and long-time home of Andrew Wyeth; and Fort William Henry – A National Historic Landmark built in 1692 and guardian of the colonial Pemaquid settlement.
