Texas is warm and humid in this area. Texas is viewed as dry and arid with Cattle Ranches. Maybe in West Texas, but since Texas is the size of France, it has many areas of climate and fauna. Our House is located on the coastal plains -- a flat area which is warm in the summer and quite mild in the winter. The photos in the listing were taken in late October and show the still-green Vegetation. From the back deck of the house, you can see for 10 mi. or more. Port Lavaca is a wonderful place with many activities. With some of the best fishing anywhere right out your front door, you might not want to go anyplace else. However, if you do want to venture out, there is a 9 hole golf course nearby with green fees under $30.00. Also, a nice, clean beach with very little wave action for the kids is close. Day trips can be made to the Gulf for surfing or deep sea fishing. Nearby is the Aransas Wildlife Refuge with the VERY rare and endangered North American Whooping Crane.
