Crested Butte Colorado sits at almost 9000 feet in the Colorado Rockies. It's 17miles as the crows fly from Aspen but a 3.5-hour drive by car or a day's hike over the mountain. Awesome Views, World class uncrowned skiing, mountain biking, fishing, rafting, hiking, hunting, and climbing abound. The Historic town is quaint, beautiful, and laid back; but sophisticated enough to support fine art and fine dining. Kick back or kick up nightlife available for anyone with any energy left after a full day of mountain activity. Winters are stunning and perfect. It snows in feet of powder not inches. Summers are short succulent and spectacular. Crested Butte is the wild flower capital of the Rockies. Summer festivals are many and include fine art, wild flowers and music. And don't miss the turning of the aspens, 2nd week in September and or course Vinotok the fall festival of the harvest.
