Our Round Top Texas country guest house which is located in the heart of the golden Triangle of Houston, Austin and San Antonio, is a charming yet sophisticated retreat known as The Silver Spur at Round Top. The restored 1800’s traditional Texas Farmhouse is nestled amongst gorgeous 100+ year old live Oaks and Pecan trees. There are spectacular views with some pitch and roll offering the true beauty of this impressive countryside. Have fun watching the Longhorns graze, deer feeding at dawn and all the wonderful bird species that come our way. Located on a secluded country road, 5 miles from Round Top, Texas town square, where you can enjoy unique shopping, antiques and first class dining that you would expect to find in the city. You will also be within 5 miles of Festival Hill Symphony Hall and also the Winedale Shakespearian Festival Center. Enjoy the beauty of a clear Texas night before bed and a fresh cup of coffee or tea on one of the two large porches, complete with rockers.

Payment is usually accepted in the quoted currency unless the currency and the amount is specifically agreed in advance with the owner / advertiser.

    There is a phone at The Silver Spur. We'll provide you with the number once reservation is made so family and friends can contact you.
    Courier and concierge services may be arranged for pick-up of groceries, videos, dry cleaning and pharmaceuticals. Through our housekeeper Maxine.

activites The tiny town of Round Top (population 77) with its charming town square surrounded by antique stores and restaurants, is set in pastoral countryside, just off Route 290. Only one and a half hours’ drive from Austin and Houston, and two hours’ drive from San Antonio and Waco.

Chartered in 1870, Round Top is located on Cummins Creek in northern Fayette County. The town is said to have received its name from 'the house with the round top', an early stagecoach mileage designation that, at the time, was located about a mile northeast of the town's present site. The first settlers were prosperous Anglo-American plantation owners who came here as early as 1826 and were active in political an d military affairs. By the late 1840s, German immigrants settled here, leaving their indelible cultural imprint on the region's landscape.
