A day trip can take you to the spectacular redwood groves on the Avenue of the Giants, the intriguing Lost Coast, the coastal community of Shelter Cove, and the secluded King Range National Conservation Area. South from Garberville brings you to the Richardson Grove State Park and Standish Hickey State Park, two havens for ancient redwoods. Both have hiking trails that lead you through hushed groves of the giant redwood trees.
