Hiking, Boating and Swimming There are countless trails in the Stanislaus National Forest, and there are fabulous trails along long stretches of whitewater right in front of Overlook. There is boating and swimming in the many nearby lakes. Boating rentals are available at Pinecrest Lake which is one mile away.

Horseback riding - Gambling There is horseback riding in Kennedy-Meadows and many other places. Overlook is about 30 minutes from the Black Oak Casino.

Yosemite Though it is picturesque in its own right, Strawberry is only about one hour from the Yosemite Gate.

Skiing Information: Very, very close to Dodge Ridge

Golf Information: There is a nine hole course that is 20 minutes away. There are some very nice 18 holes courses about 45 minutes to one hour away

We come to the Lair of the Bear every year and this year decided to rent a house to assure comfort and hygiene for our 13 month old.
