On Crocketts Beach & overlooking Penobscot Bay,Sunrise at Mahala’s Lane is nestled at the end of a private lane. Featured in the September 2007 edition of Down East magazine, Sunrise is architecturally unique, reminiscent of a ship with a bowed front, pristine white ship-lap throughout & built-in beds.Nice yard & natural gardens surround the house. Sit on the patio for morning coffee or stroll down to the ocean-front beach cottage for an afternoon of reading.The main house sleeps 8 in 4 bedrooms. The master is on the 1st floor with an ocean view & adjoining bath.The well-equipped kitchen has spectacular views of the water & opens into the living room & dining room areas, both with ocean views. There are three bedrooms upstairs & one full bath.The first bedroom has a built-in double bed and the 2nd bedroom has 1 twin built-in bed. Both have views of the water.The 3rd upstairs bedroom has 1 queen bed & 1 double bed. The beach cottage, located at water's edge, sleeps 2 in a double bed.

Owls Head is a small, quiet community just minutes from Rockland, Thomaston and Camden. These larger cities offer museums, restaurants, shopping, festivals and endless cultural activities. Owls Head, which extends to the immediate south of Rockland, is noted for its historic lighthouse with unparalleled views of the Penobscot Bay islands, its scenic working harbor, and the world-class Owls Head Transportation Museum. Owls Head is also the location of the Knox County Regional Airport—the Mid-Coast region's only airport, offering scheduled airline service, island transportation, and facilities for small jet aircraft. Just beyond the airport is Birch Point Beach State Park, which has a sand beach framed by a secluded natural setting. The small village common, at the end of North Shore Drive, is the gateway to Owls Head Harbor and the Owls Head Light.
