Lee Residence and the Museum of the Confederacy), Charlottesville (Monticello and the University of Virginia) and Fredericksburg (Fredericksburg National Cemetery and Mary Washington College) all provide excellent day trips to points of historical interest. A 1.5 hr drive takes you to the George Washington Birthplace National Monument on the Northern Neck. Williamsburg, VA and the Colonial National Historic Park (Jamestown and Yorktown) are a 2 hr drive.

Civil War Sites The Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania National Military Park, the Chancellorsville National Military Park and The Wilderness National Military Park are all located within 30 minutes. The Cold Harbor Battlefield and the Petersburg National Battlefield are located in the Richmond/Petersburg area.

Special Interest Recreation Kings Dominion (45 minutes) and Busch Gardens (2 hours)
