Bakersville cabin Rental Property Information

Secluded mountain home at 3800 ft elevation in a hollow on 60 acres. It's cool here when it's roasting in the Piedmont. Things to do without getting in your car: hike to the mountain top, climb on big-as-a-house rock formations, bicycle down the road. Pet my chickens and get eggs, fish the trout pond, pick blueberries, sit in the sun listening to song birds. Sit by mossy rocks next to a babbling creek and read (or play in the creeks). Relax on the deck with a glass of wine watching the sun set over the mountains. Look for deer and wild turkeys. Take a professionally guided photography tour. 15 minutes away: gallery hop, stroll the creek walk in B'ville, go rafting, have lunch at Dot's Café. 20-30 minutes away: drive the Blue Ridge Parkway & other scenic drives, go gem mining, hike the Appalachian Trail, visit Penland Gallery, TRAC Gallery, & artist studios, go golfing. Have dinner at Downtown Danny’s. What you can’t do: easily connect to work and other people you need a vacation from.

In the heart of the blue ridge mountains with stunning mountain top views and valleys. From the top of Roan Mountain 20 miles away to the Blue Ridge Parkway, also 20 miles away in the opposite direction. The Estatoe river offers class I and II rapids perfect for little kids or leisurely fun for the big folks, numerous hiking trails, twisty windy roads along mountain ridges and valleys. This area is known worldwide for it's artists and craftspeople. Most of the scenic driving passes their studios and many welcome drop in visitors.

There are so many things to do, They can't be listed. it's safe to say you'll never be bored. Even just hanging out on the land is a joy, very private and very beautiful..

Skiing Information: Winter skiing at Sugar and Beech Mountain. 10 miles as the crow flies, but you have to drive all the way around the mountain to get to it: about1 hour.

Golf Information: Grassy Creek Country Club for the golf inclined with a lovely restaurant. Top notch chef, and I'm fussy. Robin is her name. 30 minutes away from BirdTown.
