The Villa is only 15 minutes from Puerto Plata airport, and easy walking to beach, supermarket, restaurants, and the soon to be casino in town. Take a day and go to Samana to watch the whales as they migrate north or south. Check out the little towns along the way. Maybe you would like the mountains with many waterfalls or take the scenic route to Santiago. Car not needed. Public transportation available for all your travels. Golf courses right by the ocean. Check out Ocean World, only a short distance from the Villa in nearby Puerto Plata. Tour companies have many options for you to choose from - fishing, horseback riding, jeep safari, historical and cultural sites in Santiago, river rafting, biking, scuba diving, snorkeling right from shore. Cabarete , 15 minutes away, provides kite-boarding and windsurfing. Hurricanes - NO. They hit on the South . Mountains prevent the hurricanes from moving to the North shore.
