Wickford Village, founded in 1663, is centrally located. Only 15-20 minutes from Newport, Jamestown, Narragansett or Providence..... Nestled along the waterfront of Wickford Harbor, historic Wickford Village, on the western shore of Narragansett Bay, contains perhaps the largest concentration of late 1700s and early 1800s homes in the United States. Wickford is a thriving fishing and commercial village immersed in history. Enjoy exploring Wickford's historic homes, churches, gardens and picturesque harbor during the summer, strolling during the Christmas holiday season, savoring the sights and smells of spring. Come watch the boats, enjoy lunch at an outdoor cafe, browse through the shops, walk the tree-lined streets. In July, Wickford is host to the annual Wickford Art Festival and in December, the village is aglow with holiday spirit for the Festival of Lights. You will want to return to Wickford Village again and again

About the Historic home - This Historic Cape started out in the early 1800s as the workshop of generations of the McKenzie family, Boatwrights and merchants. Later, it was used as a carriage house. In the 1950’s it became the studio and gallery of artist Robert Mac Meehan. It was here that the Wickford Art Festival was conceived in 1961. The home has been newly transformed into a luxurious, charming residence, providing such amenities as central air conditioning and upscale appliances. The residence offers both comfort and charm in a picture-perfect setting, melding modern-day convenience with its historical roots. Setting: The home is located on a large, landscaped compound, surrounded on two sides by Academy Cove. Just to the East of the property, passing under a small bridge, the cove joins Wickford harbor. We loved all of the personal touches and the location was to die for! We will definitely be coming back. (DC, Massachusetts) ............ - For me, Wickford Village was like a glimpse back into the pages of a favorite childhood storybook – and staying in this cottage was like being inside a page of that storybook (NR, Washington, DC) .......... As a hard to please New Yorker who demands the most from every vacation getaway, this one was absolute perfection! I've already booked my next visit. (CD, New York)
