    **Weekly rate includes maid/cook service 5-1/2 days a week: maid is off from Sat. afternoon to Mon.morning. Linens changed twice a week; fresh towels always available. A lavish Food Package (*required*) of two meals a day, is provided for $175 USD/person/week ($88 USD/week for children 5-11; children 0-4 free). (*See details below*) Any reasonable request for additional items/services can be made to the manager, Ismael Franco, who runs a small commissary at the gatehouse selling wine, liquor and other optional food and beverage items.
    **To reserve, we require a deposit of 50% of total rental. If canceled 90+ days before arrival, 90% of deposit will be refunded. If between 90 and 60 days, 60%; 60 and 30 days, 30%; 30 days or less, 0%. Rental balance is due 30 days before arrival. If rental balance is not paid rental nights will be halved and we will offer balance of rental period to others.
  • A $300 security deposit is collected at the time the reservation is booked, and will be mailed back to you approximately two weeks after checkout if no charges against it are incurred. Final payment for the rental is due 30 days before arrival. If not paid on time, rental period will be halved and we will advertise the remaining half of your unpaid rental period for others to rent.

  • Casa Colibri's bathrooms are works of art: no expense was spared in the use of colorful, hand-painted Talavera tile, set into traditional designs by the local workmen. The bathrooms are amply supplied with thick towels and bath sheets.

  • The master bedroom is opulently spacious, with a vaulted palapa roof. It opens onto a private terrace in the treetops looking over the ocean. The second palapa bedroom is its own separate structure, also with a lofty palapa roof. The third bedroom has a queen size bed and a 10 foot ceiling. The fourth bedroom is bright and airy, with two twin beds, ideal for children. Sleeping in a palapa bedroom is a unique experience. You are indoors, yet, looking up at the woven palm fronds in the roof, you are part of the jungle. With the surf faintly crashing, you'll fall asleep to a lullaby of crickets, owls and geckos. When the moon is up, the palapa's double vents glow. But if you want to stay up longer, step out onto the terrace and gaze up at the most dazzling display of stars you'll ever see!

Maid and cook service provided 5-1/2 days a week: staff is off from Saturday noon - Monday morning. Because there are no readily accessible grocery stores or restaurants, the food package was created. This package is required, and costs $175 USD per person per week, payable to the rental manager. The food package provides a huge breakfast and midday meal. You're on your own for supper, but it's usually not a problem rustling up something from leftovers. The food package will provide virtually unlimited beer, soft drinks and bottled water as well as all the guacamole, chips and other snacks. Wine and liquor can be purchased at the Gate House. IMPORTANT: The pool is unheated. Due to the high cost of propane, heating the pool will cost an additional $250. USD/week. The maid provides laundry service for personal items given to her in the morning. Surfing, Sea Turtles and Shore Birds: Punta el Custodio offers some of Mexico's best surfing at just 100 yards from your door! If you are an experienced and knowledgeable surfer, you probably already know about this 'secret' beach. If you're a beginner or just like to boogey-board, the sandy bottom adds an extra measure of safety, but make sure to check the tide table! When the tide is flowing out, the currents can be dangerous! Tide tables are available. Are you an eco-tourist? Turtle Beach (Playa Las Tortugas) is right at the base of the Point. In season, you can watch endangered sea turtles lay their eggs in the sand, and if you time your visit right, you can help release hundreds of turtle hatchlings, at night, to protect them from predators and poachers. The estuary along the south edge of the Point leads to a vast mangrove swamp, whose mud flats are so thickly covered with shorebirds that when they take wing, the sky is briefly darkened. We call it the Srengheti of Birds.

Huichol Petroglyphs, Crocodile Farm, Waterfalls: Interested in Meso-American pre-history? Visit the Huichol petroglyphs just 45 minutes away. The ruins end in a mystical stream-head sculpted out by the waters over millions of years, and etched with ancient Huichol petroglyphs. Present-day Huichols venerate the site, and you will find fresh offerings of figurines left on the rocks. Or visit the nearby crocodile farm or the famed La Tovara waterfalls. Electronic Amenities/Bugs/Birds/Animals: There are none! So bring your own iPod, compact iPod stereo system, DVD player and so forth. The sea air literally eats electronics alive if one leaves components year-round, so we don't, rather than promise them only to have our guests find them so corroded that they won't work! As for communications, your cellphone may or may not work at Casa Coilibri. The Gate House has a reliable cell phone with roof-mounted antenna for emergencies. There is an Internet cafe in Zacualpan, 20 minutes away. Some of the houses at the Point have intermittent satellite Internet access, but do not come expecting that you'll have on-site internet: this is rural Mexico. A few words of caution: Punta el Custodio is a jungle: full of birds, butterflies, iguanas, raccoons -- and bugs, particularly in the summer and fall. There is also the occasional small scorpion. So if you are squeamish about living with nature, stick to an air-conditioned hotel suite in Puerto Vallarta. If you are not, bring bug dope.
