The house was built in 1992. It is large, 4,000 sq.ft. (350 sq.meters) plus has a 3-car garage. The property is a flat one-half acre with views. It is located in the foothills of Santa Barbara where the temperature will generally be 10 degrees warmer than within 1/4 mile of the beach. There is a large backyard with a beautiful newly constructed Mediterranean Spanish style pool cabana/guest house and pool with jacuzzi, BBQ and large deck area for outdoor seating and sunning. The pool cabana is equipped, like the house, with TV, stereo system and has an indoor/outdoor bar. It makes a luxurious master suite as well as the one in the main house. There is a wonderful view of the ocean and the surrounding hills.

The house is located at the north end of Santa Barbara, a seaside community about two hours drive north of Los Angeles. Our city has an international reputation as a tourist destination because of several factors. The weather is temperate with the average annual temperature of 72 degrees. The city government is very strict so the city is beautiful architecturally in a Spanish Mediterranean theme. The Spanish occupied the city in the 1880’s and established a Mission and presidio buildings which are restored and are available to tour. Almost all our street names are Spanish. Also every year around the beginning of August is a festival named Fiesta. It lasts 5 days and there are events such as dances, parades and a rodeo during that period.

State St. is the main commercial artery through the town and has lots of interesting shops and department stores. The Spanish architecture is also maintained here. There are lots of restaurants and nightlife located downtown. There are several movie theatres, an outdoor amphitheater for musical concerts in the summer, as well as many live theatres with plays and musical shows. The University of California Santa Barbara is located in the adjacent city of Isla Vista and this provides a venue for more cultural activities.

Los Angeles is a little less than 2 hours south. Disneyland is about 2 hours away. San Francisco is about 5 hours north. Yosemite is probably 6-7 hours away. Las Vegas is about 5-6 hours drive east. The Santa Ynez Valley, famous for it's Danish town of Solvang and it's fine wines at it's wineries is a 30 minute drive. Also located in Santa Ynez is the Chumash Casino which is about a 20 minute drive.
