Waldoboro farmhouse Rental Property Information
We love every little inch of this house. It was built in 1796 and was a sheep farm for a hundred years when our great grandparents bought the property. This house is the original farm house. It sits on 40 plus acres that are part of a much larger family compound. It is nine miles from the town of Waldoboro and is on a peninsula that becomes an island during the highest tides. Waterviews from every window, deep water anchorage; row boat; and tennis courts. Use of a community dock is available. The house is full of charm and years of entertaining, ribald dinners and raucous summer parties! Every piece of furniture is antique; art is all original. And the decor is traditional English cottage. Beds have been updated, new linens & towels. You do not need anything extra as the house is beautifully and fully equipped. We include a housecleaning once each week. We can also lead you to boat rentals, cooks, lots of great activities if you want a little guidance.

The house is located about 9 miles from the town of Waldoboro and 7 miles from the town of Friendship Maine. The area is coastal and primarily a lobster fishing community. The Medomak river, a tidal river, boasts fabulous sailing, fishing and general water sport enjoyment. And there are numerous antiques fairs, historic sites and scenic excursions in the area. Day trips to Monhegan Island, the thoroughfares and other points of interest are easily accessible by car. Deep water anchorage is available to boat owners. This spot is a frequent layover for yacht club races, wilderness adventures and Audobon trips.
